Consider the Ant

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
–Proverbs 6:6-8

Mole Hunter

My cat, Ginger, practicing the art of napping.  Don’t be fooled by her soft fuzziness; she is a fierce hunter of moles.  This spring alone she has brought us 23 moles.

Sweeter than Honey

How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Psalm 119:103

Dandelion

Another day and another time of amazement at God’s creation. Love it!

Look at that texture!

Garden Spider

I love this picture. Found it yesterday while digging through old photos. This spider was my photography subject for an entire summer only a few years ago.  I can only dream that another beauty like this one would return.  Don’t get me wrong, I would never want it to touch me but you have to admire the beauty of God’s creation.  I praise him that through the lens I can see the details of his handy work; things I would never see otherwise.

The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings’ palaces.
Proverbs 30:28

Copyright symbol

If you have ever wondered how to make the copyright symbol for your photos, wonder no more.  It is really simple!  On a PC keyboard, hold down the Alt key and press 0169 on the number pad.  If you are like me, I do not have a separate number pad.  So what you would do, is turn on the number pad on your keyboard.  I’m using a Thinkpad, so I have to hold down the Fn key and press the NmLk key to turn mine on.  Once you have done that, hold the Alt key down and press 0169 on the designated keys on your keyboard.  For mine is it MJO9.  It may be a different process for Mac users, but have no fear, Dr. Google is there for you!

Enjoy your © making!

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

PW Photoshop Elements Actions

The Pioneer Woman has now released her actions for Photoshop Elements! Click here to visit her site and download the actions. I’ve been playing with the actions today. Some neat stuff in there.

Here is the original photo:

Here is the Warmer action and the Sunshine action used together. I reduced the opacity of the sunshine action down to 28% to keep the photo from being overwhelmed by the yellow tint.

The Seventies action was used on this photo.

The only issue I had with the actions was that in the PW Action Set 1, the buttons are incorrectly named. I don’t know if it is just on my machine, but I have to use the button to the right of the button I want to use to get the appropriate action. Nothing I can’t live with especially with it being FREE. There is always the undo button if I use the wrong one. Just wanted to give a heads up, so you don’t think you are losing your mind, like I did. :)

Check it out and let me know what you think!

PW is currently having a photo contest over on her site too.  Click here to check it out.  The theme is Green.

Under Construction!
